What TheLounge Actually Is
TheLounge is a small community built around gaming, hanging out, and running our own servers. Discord is the main hub that's where the community actually lives. TeamSpeak is there too, for voice chat if Discord isn't your thing.
We host a few Game servers, and every so often something else gets spun up for an event, an experiment, or because someone talked everyone else into it.
We're not trying to build the biggest gaming network out there. Just a place to hang out and build things without a ton of bureaucracy.

How TheLounge Started
TheLounge came out of the ruins of another Discord community one that got more restrictive and more heavily moderated until people stopped trusting how decisions were being made.
Instead of rebuilding the same system somewhere else, TheLounge started as something different.
Less bureaucracy. More community.
Moderation decisions bans, kicks, the usual go to a community vote instead of resting entirely on one admin. The idea isn't to remove accountability, just to spread it out a little.
It's stayed small. That was kind of the point.
